The Institute may request proof of identity, educational qualifications, church or ministry involvement and other documents reasonably required to process an application.

4. Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on the website is accurate and current. However, programme details, fees, schedules, lecturers, admission dates, learning formats and institutional policies may change.

Information displayed on the website does not constitute a guaranteed offer of admission, scholarship, employment, ordination, licensing or certification unless confirmed through an official written communication from the Institute.

Prospective students should confirm important information with the admissions office before making decisions or payments.

  • Providing complete and genuine documentation;

  • Paying any properly disclosed application fee;

  • Completing an interview or assessment where required;

  • Availability of places within the selected programme; and

  • Complying with the Institute’s academic and conduct requirements.

The Institute reserves the right to reject, suspend or withdraw an application where information supplied is false, misleading, incomplete or fraudulent.

An applicant becomes an admitted student only after receiving an official admission notice from the Institute.

6. Programme Changes

The Institute may make reasonable changes to programme content, course titles, teaching methods, learning platforms, timetables, venues or assigned lecturers where necessary.

Where a significant change affects enrolled students, the Institute will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and suitable guidance.

The Institute may postpone or cancel a programme where there are insufficient enrolments, emergencies, security concerns, regulatory requirements or circumstances outside its reasonable control.

7. Fees and Payments

All applicable fees should be clearly communicated before payment.

Students and applicants are responsible for confirming:

  • The correct amount;

  • The correct payment account or payment channel;

  • The purpose of the payment; and

  • Any applicable payment deadline.

Payments must be made only through official payment methods approved by the Institute.

Do not send money to a lecturer, agent, staff member or third party unless the Institute has officially authorised the payment method in writing.

A payment is not considered confirmed until it has been received and verified by the Institute.

Students may be required to provide a transaction reference or receipt for payment verification.

8. Refunds and Cancellations

Refund eligibility will be determined according to the Institute’s published refund and cancellation policy, the nature of the payment and applicable Nigerian law.

Before publishing this section, insert the Institute’s approved rules:

Programme cancellation by the Institute: Insert refund or transfer arrangement.
Student withdrawal: [Insert applicable deadlines and deductions.]

Any non-refundable fee must be clearly disclosed before payment.

Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method or another verified account belonging to the payer.

Nothing in this section limits any refund, remedy or consumer right that must be provided under applicable law.

9. Student Accounts and Portal Access

Notify the Institute immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

Plagiarism, examination malpractice, falsification of records, impersonation, unauthorised collaboration and other forms of academic misconduct may result in disciplinary action.

Applicable disciplinary procedures will be governed by the Institute’s student handbook and academic regulations.

12. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its original content belong to Church Ministers Educational Training and Development Institute or are used with the permission of the relevant owner.

  • Photographs and videos;

  • Articles and publications;

  • Recorded lectures;

  • Downloadable documents; and

When you submit documents, photographs, messages or other materials through the website, you confirm that:

  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;

  • You are authorised to submit it;

  • It does not violate another person’s rights; and

  • It does not contain unlawful or malicious content.

Submitting a document for admission or verification does not transfer ownership of that document to the Institute.

The Institute may retain necessary application and academic records in accordance with its record-retention and data-protection obligations.

14. Live Chat and AI-Assisted Support

The website may provide live chat, automated responses or artificial-intelligence-assisted support.

These services are intended to provide general guidance and should not be treated as a final admission decision, official fee quotation, academic result, legal advice or binding institutional commitment.

Automated support may sometimes produce incomplete or inaccurate information. Important information about admission, fees, payment accounts, programme dates and certificates should be confirmed with an authorised Institute representative.

Visitors must not provide passwords, card PINs, one-time passwords, card security codes or other confidential banking information through live chat.

Chat conversations may be recorded or stored for support, security, quality assurance and administrative purposes, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

15. Privacy and Personal Information

The Institute may collect personal information through application forms, contact forms, live chat, payment verification, student registration and website analytics.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with our separate Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 provides the legal framework for fair, lawful and accountable processing of personal data in Nigeria. (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency)

Users should read the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.

16. Cookies

The website may use cookies and similar technologies to support essential website functions, remember preferences, provide live-chat services, improve performance and understand website usage.

Further information about the cookies used and available choices should be provided in the Institute’s Cookie Policy or Privacy Policy.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may contain links to third-party services such as payment processors, social-media platforms, map services, video platforms, live-chat providers or external educational resources.

These third-party services have their own terms, privacy policies and security practices.

The Institute is not responsible for the content, availability or practices of an independent third-party website. Users should review the relevant third-party policies before using those services.

18. Website Availability

We aim to keep the website available and secure, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.

The website may be temporarily unavailable because of:

  • Maintenance;

  • Hosting or internet failures;

  • Software updates;

  • Cybersecurity incidents;

  • Power or telecommunications interruptions; or

  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue a website feature where reasonably necessary.

19. Disclaimer

The website and its general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Institute does not guarantee that:

  • Every page will always be available;

  • All content will be free from typographical errors;

  • Every programme displayed will be offered at all times;

  • Website use will meet every visitor’s individual expectations; or

  • Third-party services will operate without interruption.

This disclaimer does not exclude obligations or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Institute will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting solely from reliance on general website information, unauthorised third-party activity or circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer’s rights under applicable Nigerian law. The FCCPC identifies the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 as Nigeria’s principal consumer-protection legislation. (FCCPC)

  • Uses institutional services unlawfully; or

  • Fails to meet applicable academic or payment obligations.

Where appropriate, the Institute will provide notice and an opportunity for the affected person to contact the administration.

Questions or complaints should first be submitted directly to the Institute so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve the matter.

Please include:

  • Your full name;

  • Your contact information;

  • Your application or student number, where applicable;

  • A clear description of the issue;

  • Relevant payment receipts or supporting documents; and

  • The resolution you are requesting.

The FCCPC advises consumers to first contact the relevant service provider and retain supporting transaction records before escalating a consumer complaint. (FCCPC)

23. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The parties should first attempt to resolve any disagreement through good-faith communication with the Institute.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved internally, the parties may consider mediation or another lawful alternative dispute-resolution process before commencing court proceedings.

Nothing in this section prevents a person from approaching a competent regulator or court where permitted by law.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our programmes, website services, operational practices or legal obligations.

The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
